Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Agreeing to these terms

By using the 4Warning app or this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

What 4Warning is, and what it is not

4Warning is a community awareness service. Users post warnings about things they have seen, and other users nearby may be alerted.

4Warning is not an emergency service and does not replace one. It is not monitored around the clock, it does not dispatch help, and no one at 4Warning is watching for your report. If there is an emergency, or anyone is in danger, contact the police or the relevant emergency service first. Do not rely on 4Warning to summon assistance.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it. You must be old enough under the law where you live to agree to these terms.

Warnings you post

You are responsible for what you post. By posting, you confirm you believe it to be true, and that you have the right to share any photo, video or audio you attach.

You give us permission to store your warning and show it to other users of the service so that it can do its job. You keep ownership of what you post.

You must follow our Community Guidelines. Posting deliberately false warnings, targeting individuals, or using the service to harass anyone is not allowed.

Accuracy is not guaranteed

Warnings come from members of the public, not from us. We do not verify them before they appear, and we cannot promise any warning is accurate, complete, current, or still relevant by the time you see it.

Treat warnings as one piece of information among others. Use your own judgement about what to do.

Availability is not guaranteed

We try to keep the service running, but we cannot promise it will always be available, that alerts will always arrive, or that they will arrive in time to be useful. Alerts depend on your device, your settings, your connection, and your location permission. Any of those can prevent an alert from reaching you.

Removing content and suspending accounts

We may remove any warning, and restrict or close any account, where we believe our Community Guidelines or these terms have been broken, or where content creates a risk to someone. Where it is practical we will tell you why and you may appeal through the contact page.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, 4Warning is not liable for loss or harm arising from a warning being inaccurate, missing, delayed, or absent, from the service being unavailable, or from any decision you make based on what you read here.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use 4Warning after a change means you accept the updated terms.
